DOLLARQUEEN was founded in the summer of 2007 when a group of experienced musicians wanted to combine their knowledge from previous experiences to create something new. In 2008, they released their self-titled debut album featuring seven songs plus a bonus track, among which "No More Tomorrow", which was elected by Hollywood-based record label 272 Records for their "Blues Highway Vol. 1" compilation. They performed at multiple live events around Belgium, the Netherlands and France but touring took its toll and hammond player Bart Van Acker left the band.
In 2011, DOLLARQUEEN returned to the scene with their second major release titled "CIRCUS: Only tonight in your hometown", containing eight new songs. The lack of a hammond changed the feel of their music from classic rock to a more unique blend of psychedelic dirty road movie rock. After another successful tour, bass player Danny Degheldere left the band to pursue other dreams. DOLLARQUEEN was stuck in a rut for a while and experimented with musicians until they were contacted by Robin De Mol, who showed up at an audition knowing their full repertoire. It didn't take long for them to connect and he became their new bass player, meanwhile kicking the engine back to life.
In 2014, DOLLARQUEEN recorded a brand new EP "Among The Gods" with three songs and they have returned to the stage once again. Their live performances are truly a unique and passionate experience that is not plastic fantastic but where the air is thick with the hot breath of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Their music grows on you the more you hit replay so listen to their songs, look for that continuous play button and enjoy. But watch out, it's highly addictive...
